Data files described here: A. hx250ADCPdata.dat - ADCP data matrix Columns: [Ensemble #, Depth, U, V] QA applied to the ADCP data: ----------------------------- - The ADCP data was all collected in bottom track mode. - Cross-track error was computed for all ensembles with good bottom tracking, then the mean rotation and scaling was applied to all measurements. - Rotation and scaling applied were, respectively, 1.824 degrees and 1.01. - Time offset of 1.0 minutes was applied. - Bin size was 4 meters, depths of bins are nominally at 10, 14, 18, 22, 26... Bin depths were corrected for speed of sound at the transducer head by applying the temperature and the salinity as measured in the seachest. Velocities were also corrected for speed of sound. - Ensemble length is one minute. - Only ADCP data from north of 64 degrees latitude is included here. - I throw out ensembles taken while the ship is accelerating and decelerating and on station and those obviously contaminated by ship motion in rough weather. - Data in first bin are discarded due to persistant contamination by air bubbles below the hull. - Data within 15% of the water depth to the bottom are discarded. - Data with < 50 percent good pings within ensemble are discarded. - Data with error velocity > 5 cm/s are discarded.
