Note: SEASOFT for Waves - DOS is no longer updated (since 2000). It is not compatible with the SBE 26plus and 53; use the Windows software, SEASOFT for Waves - Win32, with these instruments.
SEASOFT for Waves - DOS© consists of modular, menu-driven routines for pre-deployment planning, acquisition, processing, and display of data acquired with the SBE 26 SEAGAUGE Wave and Tide Recorder. A DOS program designed to run on an IBM-compatible computer (XT/AT/386/486/Pentium), most SEASOFT for Waves - DOS modules perform correctly when run under Windows. However, users report difficulty communicating with the SBE 26 using the Term26 module on computers that have Windows installed; we recommend that you use the Windows software, SEASOFT for Waves - Win32, which includes a Windows terminal program (SeatermW). While Sea-Bird continues to support customers using the DOS software by answering questions, we will not change, improve, or correct the DOS software.

Plan26 | Predict number of frequency bands calculated, width of each band, and frequency span.
Terminal Program | Term26 | Send commands for status, data acquisition setup, data retrieval, and diagnostics. Convert uploaded file into separate wave and tide files. |
Tide Data Processing | Merge26 | Remove barometric pressure from tide data. |
Wave Data Processing | Wave26 | Compute surface wave statistics. |
Report26 | Output one line of surface wave time series and/or wave burst auto-spectrum statistics for each processed wave burst.
